Vela’s Jennifer Nayar named CEO of the Year in Markets Media’s Markets Choice Awards

New York, London, April 24, 2017 – Vela, a global leader in high performance trading and market data technology, is delighted to announce that Jennifer Nayar has been voted CEO of the Year in the Markets Media Markets Choice Awards 2017.

The awards honor the most talented people across a variety of financial services areas, including buy-side and sell-side trading desks, institutional investors, hedge funds, exchanges, and technology providers. The nominees and winners were based on feedback from readers of Markets Media and Traders Magazine, as well as editorial interviews with leaders in financial markets and the MCA Advisory Board.

Based in Vela’s New York headquarters, Jen Nayar is responsible for all aspects of the firm’s business globally. Since joining in 2015, Jen has re-energized the company following a rebranding launch in June 2016. She has brought a renewed focus on the client, product and technology innovation, global delivery, and making Vela a fun and cool place to work for employees in its six global locations.

Jen has been at the forefront of efforts to grow and improve the business whether it’s entering new markets such as energy and agriculture or expanding asset class coverage, specifically fixed income and FX, or building on the product offering. For example, in 2016 alone, Vela added 45 new market data feeds to its direct feed handling product.

Thanks to Jen’s business strategy and leadership, 2016 was a year of significant growth for the company. In the first quarter of 2017, Vela has already signed ten new clients globally and revenue has grown over prior quarter.

Jen was recently named in Institutional Investor’s 2017 Trading Tech 40 for the second year in a row. She was also honored by Markets Media in November, receiving the Women in Finance award for Excellence in Trading Technology.
