As primary point of contact for potential new clients for any technical-related queries, I support the European Sales team providing technical insight across our products and services.
For the majority of the time, my day typically involves preparing for meetings, attending meetings, and responding to technical queries from prospective clients. I also provide technical support for proposals and requirements documentation.
Prospective clients will often have a specific problem or issue that requires solving. The Sales, Sales Engineering and Product teams will collaborate to identify which Vela product is the best fit for their requirements.
Every day is different, as each organisation has its own unique requirements so the teams work together to see how we can help each prospective client. I enjoy working through those challenges with my colleagues from the Product team along with other technical teams at Vela.
I started at Vela in the Belfast office and was very excited that I had the opportunity to move to London and transfer to a role in Sales Engineering about a year and a half ago to further my career. I enjoy being in a client-facing role which is where I believe my strengths lie and Sales Engineering is a great place to learn and develop the skills needed to fulfill my ambition to be a good sales person. With our global client base, I’ve also had a chance to travel to countries in Asia and Europe – something that I really enjoy.
On the social side, working at Vela has always been great. From the annual Christmas parties to team nights out, summer BBQs and other events, I’ve certainly made some friends for life.
