As Quality Assurance Manager in the Engineering Department based in Belfast, I am responsible for day-to-day testing across the Vela product suite.
I joined the company in July of this year and have been working with the global team to manage and enhance our QA processes and to bring clarity to the wider organization on how QA works at Vela. As a team, we are always learning, improving and evolving our processes.
The daily life of a member of Vela’s QA team is all about resolving issues, identifying risk and embracing teamwork. We work closely with members of all the different Engineering teams to ensure that the highest standards are maintained for new and existing products. While I don't have a direct client-facing role, I receive feedback from the various teams and we ensure that we build them into our QA processes.
The Belfast QA team is a fantastic team and we have a wonderful mix of more experienced members of staff along with new starts. It’s a supportive and welcoming environment and one that is echoed in the overall Engineering team. Vela is an exciting and fast-paced company that I’m thrilled to be a part of. Each employee is committed to ensuring Vela is a great place to work, through maintaining a high level of quality of our products and the excellent culture we foster daily.
Vela’s Belfast employees are quite the social bunch! From big events such as the summer party to charity coffee mornings, everyone is included and welcome. In the few months I’ve been here, I’ve already made some great friends.
